Visual guide showing how to measure windows for blinds and curtains
Measurement Steps
1. Measure Width
Measure the total width needed: window opening + extra coverage on both sides (typically 5-10cm each side for brackets and overlap)
2. Measure Height
Measure the total height needed: window opening + top bracket space (typically 10cm) + bottom coverage (typically 10cm or as desired)
3. Example Calculation
In reference to the visual guidance, Width 300cm × Height 200cm window: Order 2 units of 155cm × 220cm (150+5 width, 200+10+10 height)
4. Important Notes
For multiple windows, measure each one separately when possible.
Pro Tips
- Use a metal tape measure for accuracy
- Measure at least twice to confirm
- Consider furniture placement when measuring
- For bay windows, measure each section separately
